The first step in our process is becoming acquainted with your business brand or manuscript. We select manuscripts for development that bring insight or inspiration to the world, particularly the business community. We’re usually drawn to nonfiction, but sometimes an author uses fictional elements masterfully to get across a powerful message. Here are some of the categories in which we’re interested.
- Business books
- Regional (Houston or Texas)

Our Best Pieces of Advice
First, be sure your story is ready to go before you submit. Go through the entire process of first draft, revisions, edits, critiques from people, more edits, and then a quick polish. Weed out grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, word mix-ups (like there and their) and typos. Be sure your story is nice and tight and that your readers will keep turning the pages. Take your time, get help if you need it, and make it shine. Your manuscript will go through a final editing process, but your extra time you spend polishing your manuscript will save you from spending an arm and a leg with an editor later.
Second, have a clear understanding about what it takes (financially) to publish your book. We’ll pair you with trusted contractors who will work with you closely on each step of the process, which could cost you about $5,000 from start to finish. The level of work necessary for each book varies widely, but this gives you a ballpark idea. We provide upfront estimates to our authors, knowing they’ll be happy with the results.
Third, have a clear understanding of the effort it will take to promote your book. We’re happy to talk up your book on our social media pages, but your marketing campaign is in your hands and requires a relentless attitude. We do have fabulous marketing representatives for hire with whom you can develop and implement your campaign.
We try to let you know within two weeks if your manuscript has been selected for publication. However, because we work closely with each selected author, we may sometimes need a bit more time. We appreciate your patience!
