Jeff Hastings, President
Jeff started writing books in 2000, when the CEO of Farmers Insurance Group of Companies asked him to write a book to boost the performance of his sales managers. Using the EMyth business development systems as a foundation of his work, Jeff published his first book for insurance sales managers in 2001 called, Recruit, Recruit, Recruit – Achieving Success One Agent at a Time. A few years later, Jeff published a book to help insurance agents run a successful business called, So You Want to Be an Insurance Agent, and printed the third edition in 2014. His latest book, The Most Successful Failure in the World, was released in February 2015. Jeff received his Bachelor of Science degree from Park University in 1990 and is a Certified EMyth Business Coach, motivational speaker, and proud father of three. When he is not at work, Jeff enjoys traveling, boating and spending time with his family and friends.
Ella Hearrean Ritchie, Director of Publishing
Ella has sipped and scribbled her way through most of Houston’s coffee shops as an editor and writer for businesses, nonprofit organizations, and federal government agencies. As director of publishing at Chart House Press, she finds special joy in collaborating closely with authors to help them navigate every step of the publication process, bringing the vision of each manuscript to fruition. When she’s not poring over manuscripts, Ella and her husband deeply enjoy their faith, friends, and the antics of their four children.
Ashlie Cook, Graphic Designer
Ashlie graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. She worked as an in-house designer for companies in Tulsa and Colorado Springs before moving to the Houston area, where her husband is a youth pastor and she spent several years teaching Spanish before starting a family and returned to her graphic design roots as a freelancer.
Erika Wisdom, Editor, Writer & Translator (Spanish)
Erika is a lover of both fiction and nonfiction and is an editor and writer of both. She has worked extensively on technical content and web content for businesses. She also specializes in translating clients’ writing projects to Spanish. Erika loves to encourage writers while helping them to brainstorm and tap into their creativity.
Pennie Dunlap, Supervisor of Accounting
Pennie has been working in accounting for over twenty-five years. She has a real passion for her work and even spends her off hours in the books, providing bookkeeping, payroll, and tax services to her clients through her own business, Integrity Accounting & Tax Services.
Carly Drake, Editor & Writer
Carly grew up in Houston but currently resides in New York City. Before she joined Chart House Press, she worked as an editor and contributing writer for Upscale Living Magazine, iCandy456, and Fitness Republic. Carly earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from the New York Institute of Technology. Her first book, a young adult historical fantasy, was published in October 2013. The sequel to Words Once Spoken was released in February 2015.
